The first thing I tell farmers: the task book is not your friend. It will guide you to stall out your farm, stretch yourself thin and become frustrated. I always used to say ignore it, but it does have a use. It will guide you through the theme event and any seasonal events. The new tip is ignore the buying and building tasks. Collect the easy rewards and forget about everything else.
