Oktoberfest 2021
Welcome to Oktoberfest 2021! Further tasks will be added as they are confirmed. My guess is that after 1000 pretzels, there will be no special items rewarded. Last year, Big Farm skipped Oktoberfest (probably because it was so good for the players), and then scaled back all the other events to make them less benificial. This year, they added a childrens' cafe recipe (vanilla pretzels) and a seaweeed humus recipe in the fish cafe. They did scale back the market to all materials being offered in contracts and not just rare, but they did maintain the value of $1000/pretzel in the market and $250/pretzel in the barn. The value in this event is the cash from pretzels. Some of the new items (lures and humus) are seen as rewards for tasks. There is a new decoration - cart with barrels - that costs 150 yellow tickets (6x6 space, 110 happiness), and you get 150 yellow tickets for finishing the first 19 tasks.
This is a task based event to collect, collect, and collect. To start the first task, you need to acknowledge (click on) the pretzel in your notifications (under your happiness).
To do this event, follow the tasks in the blue task book:
- Activate the first task (pretzel in notifications under happiness)
- Plant and harvest rutabaga
- Collect Oktoberfest feed.
- Feed chickens, pigs or cows Oktoberfest feed and they will give you pretzels.
This is a linear set of tasks, one after the next. Finish one to start the next.
Pretzels come from feeding Chickens, Pigs and Cows Oktoberfest feed. The amount of pretzels is dependent on type of stable and level of stable. Free range and premium stables will give more, and higher levels give more.
Best option is to feed chickens. Put in a temp chickens if needed. All of the stables should have pretzel rates in their info panel so you can compare what the best stables are.
One thing that Big Farm does not do is think about how the changes in the game will interact with old features (like Oktoberfest). The boosters were introduced after Oktoberfest and don't work with Oktoberfest feed.
Last time this event ran, it started with an update, the tasks started a few days later and ran for 2 weeks, and then pretzels stuck around till the next update, around 3 weeks. Since then, Big Farm put in the ability to turn events on and off without updates, so it's reasonable to expect this will last 2 weeks. The Google Play Store is reporting the event will end Oct 4th. Because it doesn't run over 3 calendar months, we can believe this to be accurate.
